The Dog and the Bone

One day, a dog found a bone. He was so happy. He held the bone in the mouth and walked happily to a hidden spot nearby. While he was crossing a bridge, he saw another dog with an apparently bigger bone in the mouth beneath the bridge. The dog, being greedy, jumped from the bridge immediately trying to snatched the bone from another dog. Upon hitting the water, the dog was greeted with splashes of water. The bone he has was gone, the shadow was gone. He went home hungry.

Postscribe: If  I were the dog, I would put down my bone on the bridge before jumping down to get another one.

In life, we probably need to have the basic, secure, stable fund that feed us before we can try to have something more. Greed, sometimes, can motivate us to aim higher. But, the problem is the method used and the attitude. Some people forgot to keep their hearts in place while using their brain in fullness.

'Why do we care about others?' They ask.

'Why can't we be selfish?' They ask.

'Why are some good people suffer and you still want me to do good?'They ask.

'How can we achieve what we want without using tricks?' They ask........

My friend could only cry at the regression.

If you have an answer, we would like to hear from you.........

The Fox and The Crane

The Fox and The Crane

One day, a fox invited a crane to have lunch at his house. The fox was enjoying the meat soup in a plate while the crane could only watch. Her long beak made drinking from plate difficult if not impossible. The crane went home hungry.

Few days later, the crane invited the fox to her house for lunch. The crane was enjoying the soup in a tall-necked jar while the fox could only watched. He couldn't drink from it. The fox went home hungry.

The moral of the story was: be considerate, thinking of the needs of others while serving yours.

Then, one day after many years hearing the story, a teenager came to me and asked:'

1) the fox and the crane were speaking different language? They couldn't communicate or understand each other well? The fox assumed the crane might behave or drink like him. When she didn't, the fox assumed that may be the soup wasn't nice or not suitable for the crane? Without conversing, the fox let the crane went home hungry?
The crane? She blamed the fox for being not sensitive or considerate and did tit-for-tat? Why didn't she ask for another container suitable for her?
How should they know what was going on if they never talk?

2) nobody taught them how other species are behaving and they never saw one? The crane was lucky that she wasn't the lunch for the fox; the fox was lucky that he wasn't invited by the crane to catch live fish or shell or having a self service-eat-all-you-can-meal in the wild. He might drown. No?

3) cultural exchange is not easy sometimes as old habits die hard. Why bother?'. End of the questions.

Hhhmmm...........what a youngster. Somehow, these triggered some thoughts.............

Do you think this story is similar to the wars sparkle here and there in the world? A war started because:

(A) The involved parties don't speak the same language, they can't talk so just fight.

(B) The involved parties don't know much about each other but they assume a lot, particularly about each other's intention.

(C) Somebody is not taught to be sensitive or considerate. They need to be educated.

(D) Rocks are diamonds, soil is gold in some areas. No food, no water, no money, no peace, no life, never mind.

(E) ...............Fill in your answer, please......................................................

The forgotten joy

As we grown up, we might have forgotten how to smile.

We thought reading kids stories and songs are being childish.

We thought being cool is not smiling easily, not laughing to show our teeth.

We thought being professional is being indifferent and deadly serious.

We thought happiness can only be found when we are rich.

We thought  when we smile, there will be ugly wrinkles that betrayed our age.

We thought we might never be able to be happy again with so much work, so much confinement by the society and so much stress in life.

And there we are.........................

a simple tune to remind you to show it when you are happy and to enjoy the simple pleasure.

Merry christmas and happy new year.

The Ant and The Grasshopper

Old story goes like this: ONCE UPON A TIME..............................

...............there was an ant, working every hard throughout summer and autumn. He was trying to gather as much food as possible so that he and his family can survive through the winter.

A grasshopper was watching the ant going back and ford, back and ford, endless time, while he was singing, making musics and dancing throughout the period. So, the grasshopper said:' Hi there. Aren't you tired? Why don't you join me for some fun?'

The ant replied:' No, thank you. Winter is coming. The time is getting shorter and not so enough for me to gather more food. Don't you be lazy.'

'Don't worry amigo. We will see,' said the grasshopper.

Winter came. Everything was in a hibernating state. The grasshopper couldn't find any food and he was very hungry. He then thought of the ant. So, he went over to his house.

KNOCK! KNOCK!KNOCK! ................KNOCK! KNOCK!KNOCK...............

'Yes?' asked the ant.

'Eerrrr, you might be right amigo. I should have stored up more food before i couldn't find any. Do you mind to share some of yours with me?' Uttered the grasshopper sheepishly.

'I'm very sorry. I'm afraid I do not have enough to share,' the ant closed the door and shut the grasshopper outside the snowing winter.

                                                                      ~THE END ~

WHAT would you do if you are the grasshopper?

(A) Curse the ant for not being helpful, stingy and selfish

(B) Curse and kick the front door till broken before you leave

(C) Find someone else to borrow

(D) Out compete the ant in gathering food , if there is a next time, so that the ant will starve to dead despite diligent.

(E) Continue to be this way and hope that the elders will provide

How prepared are prepared? What else can we do to be better especially in times of need like this, economic crisis? What advice would you offer to your children or young friends?

The Crow and the fox

Why was the fox being chosen as the smart or cunning one is beyond me. May be animal can be indeed smart when triggered.

This time, a crow stole a piece of meat. This meat was from a meat stall in an open market near to a forest. The crow rested in the forest after fleeing from the crime scene. A fox walked passed. The fox saw the crow with the meat, his mouth was watering, his eyes were hungry. The fox then said to the crow:' Hi, I heard that you have a beautiful voice. Would you mind to sing for me? I would like to hear you.' The crow was very happy upon hearing the praise. He opened the mouth and the meat dropped. The fox was already waiting beneath. He picked the meat up quickly and sprinted away. The crow was left dumbfounded on the tree......

Many years later, people offered 'WHAT IF':

WHAT IF, the crow ignored the fox and flew away quickly?

WHAT IF, the crow gave the fox a chase and got back the meat, if the crow was not deadly bitten?

WHAT IF, the crow waited innocently hoping that the fox will feel guilty and return the meat to the equally starve crow?

WHAT IF, the crow kept quiet, smile and think :' Say it to the female amigo. I'm also a male.'

WHAT IF, the crow flew away immediately and think:' Hhmmmm, that makes me thinking of getting a vocal surgery.....'

..............In our society, some people think that being hypocrisy is necessary in order to get what you want in life. A lot disagree. The difference between hypocrisy and well rounded may be really thin sometimes. But one crucial point: sincerity.

The price of ignorant can be costly sometimes. But we might never know until things happen...........

What would you say to your teens?

The fox and The grapes, the remake

The Fox and The Grapes

In the 20th century, somebody heard of a story 'The Fox and the grapes' that said.................

A fox was walking in an outskirt one day. It saw bunches of grapes hanging outside a wall of a wine yard. The fox's mouth watered as he gazed longingly at them.

The grapes were quite high. The Fox tried to reach them by stretching its body on the wall but wouldn't reach. The Fox had to jump for them. The first time he jumped he missed, then it tried again and again, but still in vain.

At the end,  it stopped trying and said :'What a fool I am! Wasting my time and energy trying to eat these sour grapes!' So, the Fox walked away with its nose in the air.

The fox who can't eat the grapes says they are sour, has been used to mock someone who says something jealously after his or her futile attempt to get something.

In the 21th century, someone heard another version. This version says, the Fox somehow managed to eat the grapes easily but yet, this time the Fox says:' I knew they are no good! So easy to get!' And the Fox walked away in disgust.

Sometimes, psychology is a funny thing. Don't you think?
